Biology & Habitat
Description
One of the most commonly managed stingless bee species in Malaysia. Known for producing high-quality propolis and honey. Workers are approximately 4-5mm in size with a predominantly black body.
Habitat Details
Found in tropical lowland forests. Nests in tree hollows and trunks. Common in Peninsular Malaysia, especially in Terengganu. Prefers shaded areas near flowering plants.
